Islamic Faith Schools: Are They Really Worsening Social Cohesion?

Dear Dr. Ramadan;

I coordinate a Sunday school activity in the States for Arabic and Islamic education as we live in a small Muslim community in Northern NH. I agree that we should work within the public schooling system to improve the situation…..the reality is; Most Muslim parents are working hard to make ends meet and an Islamic education seems to provide the needed Islamic education component.
In any case; Your guest who is of the Jewish faith is promoting the idea of avoiding the Muslim Schools and getting involved in the state run schools when the people of the Jewish faith especially in the USA are the most promoters of Jewish faith based schools. I see a contradiction in his message as if it is no problem for Jewish communities to have their faith based schools but not recommended for Muslim communities to do so.
