Of course you are right that it´s normal to have challenges while settling. As you say, the first community experienced this. The difference is of course a lack of leadership. Though individual muslims must all do the work themselves, to cope with these challenges leadership that serves as a moral compass can help. We don’t have that. We are a young community, without strong islamic or intellectual roots.

This is one of the best in the Chronicle series. Love that you show how the lessons from the Prophet’s time can be applied today. Very insightful. Thanks very much Professor Ramadan.
