When words are said and deeds are done
Truths molded and lies are sung
Songs chanted to a crowd of deaf
As the blind gasp at the rising sun.

A confused gathering silent and stiff,
Watched skilled dancers at the cliff
Draining the matter, grey and white,
Of residual brains searching for light.

Their applause echoed into their empty skull
Of a numbed crowd brainless and dull
Not one was taught to make a fire
To expose singers, dancers and liars.

When words are unsaid and deeds undone
Sins unveiled and songs unsung
The light subsides at the setting sun,

Was the song too easy to grasp and repeat?
The act performed to perfection by the elite?
The magic played too well to seem like a cheat?
Or were they simply blind to deceit?

In an aweful moment, disciplined and upright
They cheered and bellowed “we are unite”
The moon vanished behind a cloud in the night
And in the pitch dark, the dancers bowed in the light.

“All opinions are that of the author and not necessarily those of the website that it is published under.”
