From the evidence that has emerged, it seems possible, even likely, that Tariq Ramadan has been the victim of collusion and false accusations. As his lawyer says, the truth will become plain in court – we hope. Nevertheless, Mr Ramadan’s reputation will be destroyed, and quite probably his health as well. If collusion does become evident, will their be legal consequences for false accusations made?
