Hello Dr.Ramadan. If you wouldn’t mind can you tell me the difference between Jewish,Christian and Islamic Philosophy pertaining the dimention of the Body and the Soul. In terms of the body being bad or good and the soul being bad or good persay, or are do they all have the same thesis? Thank you Salam.
The Islamic philosophy teaches that all the mankind is from one father and one mother. Everyone is made of a body and a soul. The Qur’an adds a third element to those two in stating that we all have al Fitrah which means a natural and deep inspiration/inclination/need to seek and love Allah the almighty. In order to find the true way to satisfy that need people have to listen to and follow the teachings brought by Messengers. So through the history it was a time a Jewish had his chance to be good in mind and in the body as it happened to be with the Christian one. Finally the Prophet Muhammad was sent with the same philosophy that there only One God and that we have to follow now the message and the philosophy of Islam which not only confirmed the messages brought by Moses and Jesus but correct the wrong teaching brought by some men. These wrong teachings (like God had a son) cannot no more help to be good in one’s soul and in one’s body (that is to say to be good in the way agreed by the Lord of the mankind as stated in the last Revelation). According to the Islamic philosophy we were all borne with a good soul and a good body but wrong teachings, inherited from our Jewish and/or Christen parents and wrong choices, made by us later, can make us bad in soul and in body though we still are human being that have to be respected for being so. Even a Muslim too can be bad in his/her body and soul when he/she does not make efforts to purify his/her soul deeply and constantly by praying and fasting and learning about Islam ( educating his heart and purifying his body) so that to be a better human being. I hope I answered to your question.
how can parents help their sons who got confused about religion and became doubtful after living and studying in western countries…
