The STATE OF THE UNION conference, organised by the European University Institute (EUI), is an annual event for high-level reflection on the European Union The conference brings together leading academics, policy-makers, civil society representatives and business and opinion leaders to discuss the current situation and future prospects of the European Union.
Professor Tariq Ramadan will partake in following session:

MIDDAY PARALLEL SESSION
The five different midday parallel sessions are coordinated and organised by EUI professors, with speakers, journalists, academics and EUI researchers leading discussion. Sessions A and B will focus on what was discussed in the morning session on Institutions and Democratic Governance. Sessions C, D and E will introduce afternoon session’s topic: Migration and Citizenship. Guests are invited to sign up and participate in one of the five parallel sessions. These sessions will be followed by a working lunch, served at the Palazzo Vecchio.
Session D: Migration, identity and integration
Does migration challenge a receiving society’s identity or do appropriate policies allow integration and social cohesion?
Is Islam being integrated in Europe?
Will Europe continue to progress towards recognising to migrants citizen-like rights, including political rights?
Is increased xenophobia in Europe caused by rising numbers of immigrants or by rising economic anxiety?

Des réunions d’élite , sans les peuples…..
Oui et alors?
Tariq Ramadan se rend dans les deux: aux réunions d’élite quand il est invité pour faire entendre justement une autre voix.
D’ailleurs, Ramadan se rend aussi dans des conférences dans les banlieues auprès d’assciations très modestes et ceci depuis plus de 25 ans.
Et vous,cher anonyme,à part critiquer Ramadan depuis votre fauteuil qu’avez vous fait pour le « peuple »???
