Electing a bigot was the moment when Americans lost their consciousness. It was also the day when America as a country lost its greatness. And it was a day when hate has dominated and won over love and respect.

I still can’t grasp how could anyone with sanity in him or her trust this belligerent man to be the commander in chief?

How could a civilized country loose its civility and put in power someone who is filled with nothing but hatred to all those who are not white?

I am very sad. Not because Hillary lost but because Americans elected hate, division and bigotry over sanity and common sense.

I cannot comprehend the fear, confusion and shock people of color in the US must be living especially Latinos and Muslims.

It is the world of contradictions. If Mr. Trump was a Muslim, no one would have tolerated his abusive behavior. He would have been shunned and labeled to what he really is: an obnoxious extremist.

Not only would he have been shunned, the entire faith and even those who look like Muslims would have faced backlash.

But ironically, the same features and traits that would have made a Muslim the most loathed extremist on the planet have elevated another man into the most powerful office on the planet.

Much of what Mr. Trump stood for in his campaign constituted evil, bigotry, racism, and hatred. But the skin of his color has played as an umbrella, a disguise and a cover up.

Such outrageous behavior would have landed a person of color especially a Muslim not in the White House but in jail.

Right wing parties are roaming the political arena to recruit followers by using fearmongering. While the world is only paying attention to extremism in brown people, the right wing parties are getting away with the same crime but because of their color they are falling under the radar. They are like empty vessels with nothing to offer except hatred and division. They take advantage of the economic turmoil to blame immigrants and portray themselves as true saviors. The only thing they offer to mainly angry white men is fear, fear of the unknown; of the foreigners whose missions is to take over the land and implement their way of life, i.e. Sharia law.

Trump’s stunned victory is a wakeup call about the system.

Mr. Trump was indeed smart to play with the system by using the loophole in the taxing system to avoid paying taxes.

He once again managed to get away with another major loophole in the electoral system with the mob rule mentality and a lack of a watchdog to make sure he conducted himself accordingly.

He didn’t win because of economic policies or with anything else that would bring the country forward. He utilized hate, hate against Muslims, against immigrants and against everyone else who isn’t white.

When he boasted he was going to make America great again, what he really meant was to send a divisive and mixed signal to the white people to make the country white again.

All this shows the system requires a major overhaul. Mr. Trump knew what he was talking about when he talked about a rigged system.

There should have been check and balance right from the beginning. He should have been given a red card the moment he started dehumanizing other people and acting with belligerency against Latinos, women, Muslims and disabled. As a player in the arena he should have been kept in check to make sure he played by the rules. Or else he should have been thrown out.

But unfortunately the media and his fellow republicans acted as cheerleaders and the snake has bitten them at the end.

Mr. Trump’s fellow right wingers are using this event to celebrate. According to the Independent, Marine Le Pen, the leader of France’s far-right Front National party, has congratulated Donald Trump on his election victory.

“Congratulations to the new President of the US, Donald Trump, and the American people – free!” she tweeted as the Republican candidate edged towards the 270 Electoral College votes needed to reach the White House.

Her father, Front National (FN) founder Jean-Marie Le Pen called Mr. Trump the “President of the People”, adding: “Today, the United States, tomorrow, France. Bravo!”

Florian Philippot, the party’s vice president, tweeted a photo of Ms. Le Pen with the caption: “Their world is collapsing. Ours is being built.”

And according to the International Business Times, David Duke, the former leader of the Klu Klux Klan (KKK), sent a series of complimentary tweets to Trump, describing his victory as “one of the most exciting nights of my life”.

“Make no mistake about it, our people have played a HUGE role in electing Trump,” the white supremacist added.

Donald Trump might have won the election but he has certainly lost his way to make great America great again. You don’t achieve greatness by dehumanizing others, vilifying the weak and the vulnerable and creating mistrust, division and hatred to an unprecedented level in recent memory.
