A leading advocate of radical reform, Dr. Ramadan delivers the message that Islam and democracy are not in conflict; rather, they inherently complement each other. He also affirms that Islam is not a « visitor » in the West; it is an American and European religion now and should be recognized as such.”

  1. Democracy and islam are not in conflict and complement each other? Or are demoractic values integral part of islam? And in a time when democracy in the west shows its fragility, what contribution can islam make to the concept of democracy?
