  1. Ramadan is blessed month. It unites us all whereever we’re. Allah the Almighty give us Ramadan as a time to set things rights once more, to sort out the priorities in one life. Let us not forget that in Ramadan, as we rejoice and celebrate the end of each day, there will be many in the world who will starve to death because they have no food or without drinks. Let us be grateful every day not only in Ramadan for the good things of this life. Let us, this year, allow Ramadan to make us better people, better Muslims. I wish to you all the best during this Holy month. Ramadan Mubarkek for all Muslims around the world.
    wa Salam alykom.

  2. Dear Mr Ramadan,

I am trying to reach a better understanding of Islam and hope you can help. I have been trying to see why as a muslim (here in Sudan at least) one is required to fast – including not drinking water – during the month of Ramadan. To be honest in a hot country like this, it is dangerous to health and safety to forego water – especially if you are to drive a car, or even try to do a proper job. Surely that cannot be what the Prophet, peace be upon him, intended?

I am but a novice and find the Holy texts a great challenge – can you direct me to the words in the Holy Qur’an or Hadiths that justify:

    1. The requirement to fast during Ramadan

    2. That this should also include drinking water – the very essence of life.

    With thanks,
