The Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics to host Principles of Bioethics seminar Doha, 2 January 2013 — The Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE) will be holding an informative and engaging seminar called Principles of Bioethics at the Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies on January 5.
This is the first in a series of events being organised by CILE, a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. The three-day seminar aims to bring together scholars of Islamic jurisprudence and Shariah under one forum so they can discuss and tackle critical issues that are pertinent to today’s world.
Seminar participants will attempt to find solutions to two paramount questions: the first will examine what the Islamic principles of bioethics are, and the second will study whether the four principles of bioethics as defined in the West are in fact universal.
CILE, a member of the Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies, specialises in Islamic legislation and ethical thought with a main focus on applied principles. The center has a vision of reform that is guided by the fundamental tenets of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah (teachings of Prophet Muhammad). CILE aims to bring about a more just and moral world through a methodological and theoretical framework that can lead to practical applications and tangible contributions.
A number of well-regarded experts in the fields of theology, bioethics and Shariah will partake in the seminar. Participants will include Sheikh Dr Abdallahi Boya, Sheikh Dr Ali Qaradaghi, Sheikh Dr Ahmed Raissouni, Sheikh Dr Abdul Sattar Abu Ghuddah, Dr Annelien Bredenoord, Dr Mohammad Albar, Dr Hassan Pasha, and Dr Tom Beauchamp.

يناير 2013 – الدوحة، قطر
ينظم مركز دراسات التشريع الإسلامي والأخلاق، عضو كلية الدراسات الإسلامية في قطر، ندوة حول « أخلاقيات الطب الحيوي »، يشارك فيها نخبة من علماء الشريعة الإسلامية وخبراء من مختلف التخصصات العلمية الأخرى، وذلك في الفترة من 5 – 7 يناير 2013 بمقر الكلية في مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع.
تأتي هذه الندوة ضمن سلسلة من الفعاليات التي ينظمها مركز دراسات التشريع الإسلامي والأخلاق، بهدف تعميق النقاش حول الإشكالات المعاصرة وطرح مقاربات أخلاقية لمعالجتها. ويسعى المشاركون في الندوة إلى تحديد المبادئ الرئيسية في مجال أخلاقيات الطب الحيوي، ومناقشة مدى انتشار مبادئ الطب الحيوي المتعارف عليها في أوروبا والدول الغربية.
يشارك في هذه الفعالية عدد من أبرز العلماء والخبراء، من بينهم الشيخ الدكتور عبدالله بن بيه، والشيخ الدكتور علي القرة داغي، والشيخ الدكتور أحمد الريسوني، والشيخ الدكتور عبد الستار أبو غدة، والدكتور أنالين بريدونورد والدكتور محمد علي البار والدكتور حسن باشا، إلى جانب الدكتور توم بيشومب.
يذكر أن مركز دراسات التشريع الإسلامي والأخلاق هو مركز بحثي معنيّ بالبحث في الرؤية الإسلامية للأخلاق والتشريع فكراً وتطبيقاً. ويسعى المركز للإسهام في تجديد الفكر الإسلامي في مجال الأخلاق بتقديم قراءة معاصرة تنطلق من القرآن والسنة، وتهتدي بمقاصد الشريعة الإسلامية، كما يسعى المركز إلى صياغة حلول عملية أخلاقية قابلة للتطبيق في مختلف العلوم والمجالات.
