Ramadan and Fasting in the Workplace

  • Ever worked with individuals in your teams or worked with colleagues who stop eating and drinking in the office for a whole month, and who no longer go out for cigarette breaks or lunch breaks?

  • Ever wondered what Ramadan is all about and been uncertain as to whether you should ask?

These and other questions will be answered in a lively and informative session presented by the renowned Prof Tariq Ramadan who is Professor of Islamic Studies and Senior Research Fellow at St Antony’s College (Oxford). The session will be organised and run by Accenture Muslim Network in association with the Human Capital & Diversity Team.

Title: Ramadan and Fasting in the Workplace
Date : Wednesday 26th September 2007
Time:  5pm to 7pm
Location: Libra Room,6th Floor, Fenchurch Street, London

The event is designed to provide the opportunity to understand the reasons why Muslims fast during the month of Ramadan and will be presented by Tariq Ramadan who has the measured delivery of an academic, which is no more than you would expect from a man who used to be a high school principal and wrote his doctoral thesis on Nietzsche. We will also explore how Ramadan impacts the day to day activities of individuals in the workplace – especially in a dynamic working environment such as Accenture.

The event promises to be an informative session with a highly sought after speaker and with the opportunity to ask questions in an open environment. Everyone is welcome.
